Equivalent Circuit Analysis of EIS Using Tomography Sensor

ABSTRACT

This study proposes to use Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) technique in Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT). Both technique, either EIS or EIT use an impedance measurement to predict the heterogeneity component inside a medium. EIS employs an equivalent electrical circuit analysis. Meanwhile, EIT employs a normalization with reference medium and an image reconstruction algorithm. In order to analysis the performance of integration both techniques, we apply an EIS experiment by using EIT sensor. 16 electrodes in cylindrical vessel connected with a multiplexer and an impedance analyzer to measure several vegetable phantom conditions. Based on the Nyquist plot from all pair measurements, an equivalent electrical circuit can be derived to predict the heterogeneity inside medium.
